Starting 22 May until 26 June 2010 the BBC and Commercial Radio have got together, offering a "scrappage" trade-in on your old analogue radios when you purchase a new Digital Radio. When you are set to buy a Digital Radio take your old one to the participating retailers ad get from 10-20% off. The old radios will be sent to South Africa. Ofcom has released the next phases of the Digital Switchover providing us with dates for the Central TV regions. The transmitters are: Nottingham, The Wrekin, Lark Stoke, Bromsgrove and Rridge Hill. See updated List or Map.

Sky Digital has made changes to their packages and choices. There is only one box available now - called the Sky+HD Box. You have to select at least one Entertainment Pack. On top of this you can choose HD, Sky Movies/Sports, etc. See our updated Sky Digital page

Freeview HD launched 2nd December. To date however there are no set-top boxes or TV's available that have the technology to receive it.
On the bright side they should be available before christmas. The first service to launch is BBC HD, others will follow spring 2010. As soon as we hear of them we will publish it on this site.

Freeview Hd has made changes today to their pricing. It is not all bad though. One major change has been to their Packages which have been consolidated from 8 to 6 packs - these are known as Entertainment Packages which include Children's, Knowledge, Music, News & Events, Style & Culture and Variety packs.
The Sky Movies and the Sky Sports are now called Premier Packages including Sky Sports 1/2 and Sky Movies 1/2.

More changes to Freeview. We have noticed that Channel 21, the TMF music channel is gone. VIVA a music and entertainment channel replaces it.

Freeview rescan - 30 September 2009. Rescan your digital box as the freeview channels will be re-shuffled in preparation for HD. Channels particularly affected will be C5 and C4 as they will be switched to another multiplex. C5's UK coverage will increase as a result of the changes (click here)

Channel 5 has lost the HD slot on the initial launch of the Freeview HD Service. If they still require a HD channel they will have to wait until the 5th HD channel becomes available sometime in 2011, but to get it they must comply with Ofcom strict guidelines

Switchover for the Channel Islands and the Freemont Transmitter has been announced. This will be the first transmitter switchover that will be switched in one stage, all others switchover's have been in two stages. Will this be the start of a new way forward for future switchovers?

The BBC has given details of the roll-out of Freeview HD. Starting on 2nd December the Winterhill transmitter in the Granada region and the Crystal Palace transmitter in London will be installed and switched on.
